Local Police Panel

“Find out about local priorities in your area, and what is being done about them”

Priority 1: Road Safety
What you said: You wanted a safety talk given to the village schools and a competition to design a poster.

What we did: This was donated by Turners Hill and Worth Parish council. Certificates were awarded to all the children that participated. It was decided that this competition would take place yearly so that new comers to the school are aware of road safety and can take part.

What happened: The winning posters will be framed and displayed in the villages.

Priority 2: Young offenders working in the community.
What you said: You wanted a scheme where young offenders could do some work in the community.

What we did: A representive from West Sussex youth offending services has been contacted. Some of the projects that have been done with young offenders are. Removing graffiti, cleaning road signs, delivering letters, and gardening work for the sick and elderly.

What happened: The representive will attend the next panel meeting on the 11th of November to discuss the procedures and implementing of this scheme.

Priority 3.
